CYCLE20TEN BICYCLE TOUR 2010
Some of you may have seen the post I made February 17, 2010, and asked yourself, “Well, what are you talking about, bike trip?“
Long story short, I’ll be following a group of 10 or 11 high school-age boys, two leaders and some other stragglers from Maryland to Washington (the state). To us East Coasters it can be a daunting thing to imagine, “Why on Earth would you go west to get to the beach? We have perfectly good beaches on this side of the union (not to mention how much warmer the water is).” However, that is neither here nor there; it’s a bicycle tour, not a beach trip.
But I digress. The group I just mentioned will take 10 weeks to bicycle close to 4,000 miles. We’ll see friends along the way who live in the states and cities we pass through, and many more friends will find us on our path.
The group will also be raising money for the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of the nation’s leading cancer research facilities, so be sure to check back here or the Cycle20Ten website for more information on how to donate later this spring and summer.
If you have any specific questions feel free to leave them in the comments section so I can answer them in a way that everyone else can see.
